Wilderness of Cherrapunji

I’ve traveled to so many places in India, but I must tell you Meghalaya is one of those states in India, where I’d love to revisit thousand times. Wilderness of Cherrapunji is something I can never forget. As a veteran traveler I can definitely recommend you to visit Cherrapunji once in your life.

It was not rainy season when I visited Cherrapunji. But that cold, drizzling rainy weather reminded me of those paragraphs I had read in school books that its one of those heavy rain fall places on Earth. I really had some difficulties over finding my stay. As the weather was not good, and I forgot to carry any umbrella / raincoat. Mostly I came to Guwahati for some personal reason, but could not avoid the thrilling of visiting Meghalaya. I was waiting near a cottage at that night for some two hours almost. I was completely astonished by the sound and shivering  coldness – who could tell the next morning would be a sunny, clearer one. But sinking in the madness of enjoying that cold night was something cherish able.

The next morning was not that sunny what I expected. But it was foggy, the sky was full of clouds. My cottage owner reminded me that even it was raining 30 minutes ago. Who could believe that after thirty minutes it will take another foggy morning shape. I took out my camera from the cottage inside and took this snap –  the long distance was only visible merging with the  mountains. The herbs, plants, small oaks they never get faded by urbanization. Nature has always protected them to maintain its sanctity. Only the wooden walls of the cottage, they have witnessed pain of getting drench every hour, every day.

There’re lots of things to understand or learn from nature. For that you’ve to move out from your comfort zone. Only if you come out, you’d be able to broaden your views. Because only living is not enough for anyone. We’ve to feel the river, mountain, sun, green fields every integral part of the nature. For that purpose, you have to leave the city and move into the wilderness of your intuition. You’ll discover the paradise, you’ll discover yourself.
